Week 2
This week has been about the same as last week. Classes start at 7 am for me and end at 6 pm. It's a mixture of learning how to teach, learning Spanish, and teaching "investigators" via zoom. Kind of tough trying to teach a lesson in another language because I know exactly how to answer a question but don't know how to say it in Spanish.
My district has had some group calls after classes and on Sundays just to hang out and get to know each other. It's been fun getting to know them and talking to them even though we can't meet in person.
When my companion and I teach, we get assigned people that act like non-members, or it's our teacher in a costume and a virtual background of a house haha. But today we just met with a real investigator, Lucrecia. She is a friend of our afternoon teacher and she had some problems in her life. I was able to share Moroni 7:48 with her which says:
"...pray unto the Father with all the energy of heart, that ye may be filled with this love, which he hath bestowed upon all who are true followers of his Son, Jesus Christ; that ye may become the sons of God; that when he shall appear we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is; that we may have this hope; that we may be purified even as he is pure."
I felt prompted to share this scripture with her because she had questions about prayer and was looking for God's love in her life. I asked her to read it aloud with us and through her tears and sobs, I knew she could feel the Spirit that was with us. I then shared my testimony about the peace we can receive through prayer and promised her that she could find God's love through prayer. We invited her to pray to God and ask for peace and comfort. I know that our Heavenly Father listens to our prayers and that the Book of Mormon can be used to help anyone in any situation.
Hopefully, I answered people's questions about online MTC.
