Week, I mean Day One

I guess today is my p day because of transfers yesterday. I made it to the Provo mission yesterday and I am now in the Huntington area or the red rock area. It's basically Radiator Springs, just a small rural town.

As I got to the airport yesterday morning, the man collecting our bags asked us where we were originally called because every new missionary that came here was reassigned here, and I told him Peru. He just stared at me and laughed and said I'm not going anywhere. There's an elder here from Peru that can't go back home because Peru won't let him go back and he's been serving for 28 months now. So that was fun to hear that. After that we went from the SLC airport to Provo and met our mission pres and his wife. They're super cool and he's like an Australian Uchtdorf haha. After introductions, we met our companions and I got 2 of them. Elder Maughan from Washington state, and Elder McClean from South Carolina. They're pretty good guys. We drove like 2-2.5 hours to our area and I almost fell asleep in the back of the car but I don't think I'm allowed to even tho Elder McClean did a few times.

We had the opportunity to join a blessing for a man that was recently diagnosed with cancer. He speaks Spanish so I understood almost everything he said and the member that gave him the blessing spoke in Spanish it was a cool experience and the first blessing I got to be a part of. We also had dinner at a members house and its sounds like that's gonna happen often haha.

I'll try to get pics later today

Love Elder Garrick

Here's the house it looks like a dump but it's pretty nice on the inside.
I sleep on a mattress on the floor haha but it's all good.
