"I have a son?!" - Chef Gusteau (from Ratatouille)

Let's dive right into it- I'm gonna be a father tomorrow. In the mission, when you train a new missionary, you become their "parent." I'm excited that president trusts me with this responsibility and I hope I don't screw it up haha.

I met my dad's cousin, Stevie Garrick, the other day. We went to a members house and they recognized my last name and asked me if I knew Steve Garrick. I texted my dad and sure enough it was his cousin. We went and visited him shortly and he said he saw me at a restaurant the awhile back and saw my last name but didn't know who I was. He looked me up on Facebook, saw the name "Kobe" and thought "who would name their son Kobe? Greg" hahaha. Turns out he served in Lima! I got his number so we'll keep in touch. It's funny how many people and relatives I've ran into on my mission.

Also, I had some authentic Peruvian food this week, it was gooooooood.

Spiritual thought

Love one another for crying out loud. There is so much contention in the world, how could we ever expect this hatred to cease by creating more hatred. Learn from the example of the Savior, read about Him, grow your relationship with Him, become like Him.

That's all I got this week

Love
Elder Garrick
